Verdi Productions is a fully funded film production company located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island and Edgartown Massachusetts, with additional satellite offices in New York City and Los Angeles. The company pursues all aspects of filmmaking, carrying projects from concept through postproduction.
Verdi Productions is redefining how films are made on the East Coast. Unlike other production companies that come to the Northeast, Verdi is establishing itself as a fixture in the Rhode Island community. Verdi Productions does not operate on a project-to-project basis, but instead functions like a west coast studio with established offices, full time employees and a continuous stream of product.
Over the past 5 years, managing partner Chad A. Verdi and his investment partners have invested over $100 million dollars into sixteen feature films. The first film from Verdi Productions, Loosies starring Peter Facinelli, Jaimie Alexander, Michael Madsen and Vincent Gallo was released in 2011 in a major distribution deal with IFC.
Verdi has produced four films in partnership with Emma Tillinger Koskoff and the legendary Martin Scorsese. Verdi produced Bleed For This (Miles Teller, Aaron Eckhart, Katay Sagal, Ciaran Hinds), and executive produced Silence (directed by Martin Scorsese starring Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Ken Watanabe) , Bad Hurt (Theo Rossi, Ashley Williams) and the documentary The 50 Year Argument (directed by Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi).
At the early age of 18 years old Mr. Verdi acquired his first business, a RI television listing newspaper called TV Facts that is still in publication today.
By the age of 21 Verdi acquired several other businesses in the food service sector throughout RI. By age 30, Verdi owned, co-owned or had investments in over a dozen businesses that ranged from food and toy manufacturing to restaurants and hi-tech developments in the biotechnology field. Over the last 13 years, Mr. Verdi has been involved in over 1.2 billion dollars in business mergers, reverse mergers, start-ups and acquisitions and currently owns, co-owns or has investments in more than two dozen businesses in diversified industries with more than 1000 local employees and sales of more than $100 million nationwide.
Entering the film industry in 2009 to pursue his passion to tell the story of boxer Vinny Pazienza, he has since produced sixteen feature films, including partnering with Martin Scorsese on the upcoming film Silence and the documentary The 50 Year Argument, and producing the Pazienza story as the 2016 film Bleed For This.
Michelle Verdi has pursued her passion for music from a very young age: she has traveled all over the USA and has attended close to 1000 live performances spanning all musical genres.
With the formation of Verdi Productions, Ms. Verdi has been able to turn this passion into a profession, seeking out veteran and up-and-coming artists for The Company’s films. Her goal: to seek out innovative musical acts that are appropriate for each individual film.
Ms. Verdi serves on The Company’s Board of Directors alongside Chad A. Verdi. Previously, Ms. Verdi has been the Vice Chairman of Verdi Consulting. She is also the co-owner of a large real estate portfolio that includes the 175-year-old former United Methodist Church in East Greenwich, RI where the Constitution of RI was adopted.
Graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 2004 with a degree in Music Education, Mary began her career as a middle school Performing Arts Director at the Providence Country Day School, and also as the Youth Ensembles Coordinator for the Rhode Island Philharmonic and Music School.
